* Asked about players who have impressed him. Named Marcus Lewis. “Mark my words. Watch what Marcus Lewis does.”
* Said he spent some time talking to Darnell Dockett this summer when Dockett brought his son to Jimbo Fisher camp. Dockett told him how Jamal Reynolds took him under his wing when he was a freshman. Said Reynolds would take the young D-linemen to go work out on their own. And he’s now doing the same with FSU’s young linemen.
* Walker said he thinks this defense has the “heart” of the 2013 defense. “I can see this defense being the best defense FSU ever had. And that’s big words.”

* On the Ole Miss game, Dalvin said the players are working hard for that game. He said he can see it in their eyes. He was asked if FSU was going to try to make a statement in that game. “We’re going to make a statement,” he said.
* On the team’s mentality: “I see guys hungrier.” Says guys are competing more and focused on finishing little details. Says that was the difference in close losses last year.
* He was asked about Derwin James’ athletic ability and said he has seen Derwin do a windmill slam dunk in basketball. Also saw him jump over Sean Maguire when Maguire was standing straight up. “He can jump.”
