The exciting National Signing Day for Florida State continued with plenty of fireworks as Houston, Texas, middle linebacker Dontavious Jackson, one of the biggest targets on the board for the Seminoles, officially announced Wednesday on ESPNU he will sign with FSU over Texas, Alabama and others.

The four-star Jackson was one of the top overall targets from the beginning for FSU and a major need for this class. The Seminoles graduated both of their inside linebackers from 2015, Terrance Smith and Reggie Northrup.

There were many factors that led the 6-2, 238-pound Jackson to the 'Noles, despite coming from a state that the 'Noles haven't enjoyed a ton of success in recently.

"FSU was and has still been one of the best visits I've taken all year," Jackson said after his visit to Tallahassee. "I loved it and really fell in love with the people at Florida State. I connected really well with Coach [Bill] Miller and Coach [Tim] Brewster from the start. TE Naseir Upshur is my best friend, so if I went there I know I would be around people I have a great relationship with."

Still, the 'Noles had to hold their breath after Jackson took a visit to Texas, a school he grew up watching. Jackson becomes the fourth linebacker commitment for Florida State joining Josh Brown, Keion Joyner and Emmett Rice.
