Four-star RB Amir Rasul of Coral Gables High School was the only running back the Seminoles landed in the 2016 class, but he was a big one as he emerged as one of the more explosive backs in the country. In our latest Signee Update, Rasul, who rushed for 767 yards and 10 touchdowns and added a pair of receiving touchdowns, explains how his final official visit (to FSU) sealed the deal, discusses his potential impact as a freshman and explains why academics played a strong role for the Seminoles.

With the excitement of National Signing Day in the past, four-star RB Amir Rasul is focused on starting his new journey with Florida State. According to Rasul, he's currently 6 feet tall and 210 pounds and said it's likely by the time he starts working out at FSU he could be around 215 pounds.

Looking back on his college decision, Rasul explains why he picked the Seminoles over North Carolina, Alabama and others.

"The program from day one, they've been honest with me," Rasul said. "Coaches and everything have been straight. I got a chance to meet some teachers in my field and just the feel for it there, like winning a national championship, upholding that legacy. It's a new home that I wanted to be a part of."

Although the Crimson Tide and Tar Heels made major pushes for Rasul, he said there was no doubt in his mind once he took his final official visit to Tallahassee.

"I saved the FSU visit for last because I knew it was going to be special," he said. "It was unbelievable. I was able to meet a lot of unbelievable people on the visit that I hadn't met before at FSU, and that just wrapped it up for me. I knew after that official it was FSU."

Rasul is considered one of the fastest running backs in the country and has legitimate track speed. Despite tipping the scales at over 200 pounds, he recently ran a personal best in the 100.
