In our latest 2016 Florida State signee update, four-star tight end Naseir Upshur talks about his early impact as a freshman, how he came up with the idea for his unique commitment, when he actually committed to FSU, and why FSU could have another elite Philadelphia prospect heading to Tallahassee.

For Rivals100 tight end Naseir Upshur, the hardest part of the recruiting process wasn't deciding where he was going to attend college. It was not being at Florida State in January as an early enrollee.
"I wish I was there right now," Upshur said from his hometown of Philadelphia. "I love that place."
Upshur did make it down to Tallahassee recently to watch his new teammates participate in spring practice, and he said it only motivated him to start training harder for his summer arrival.
"When I visited FSU last week, I had a talk with Dalvin Cook and they were telling me I needed to get there conditioning-wise," Upshur said. "You always have to be running to go through the everyday conditioning you get here. I've also been doing a little recruiting for 2017 to get those guys here. Mostly, it's about me getting my body right with conditioning, so I can dominate my freshman year."
It has been a bit of a whirlwind year for Upshur, who many thought was heading to Michigan during his junior year of high school. Things started to shift last summer after an August visit to FSU.
